Celebrating Europe’s best young entrepreneur
The JA Europe Company of the Year Competition (in short “COYC”) is an annual competition which gathers students aged 15-18 from all over Europe, who have participated in the year-long JA Company Programme and qualified at the national-level.
During COYC 2021, students will have the opportunity to showcase their companies at the virtual fair (29 June 2021) and compete for prestigious signature awards and the title of JA Europe Company of the Year 2021, to be announced on 15 July 2021.

Giving young people a taste of entrepreneurship
Launched in 1919, our flagship programme the JA Company Programme offers students aged 15-18 the opportunity to learn how to move a business idea from concept to reality. The programme provides teachers with a series of learning-by-doing business, economics and entrepreneurship activities, a great way to help students succeed in a global economy.
The JA Company Programme equips young people with highly sought-after skills (creativity, leadership, perseverance and self-efficacy) and offers them a chance to experience entrepreneurship.
Last year, 330,000 students from 40 countries across Europe took part in the JA Company Programme, creating close to 30,000 Mini Companies!
Certifying the students’ future
As students reach the end of the Company Programme, they are eligible for the Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP), a unique international certification of skills and experiences. The ESP certifies students, who have had a real entrepreneurship experience, have gained the necessary knowledge, skills and competences to start a business or to be successfully employed.
By certifying their experience, the Entrepreneurial Skills Pass helps students gain access to further opportunities such as training, work experience and start-up support.
